Physician's Hearing Aid Center uses otoacoustic emissions testing to obtain the most accurate determination of inner-ear function. This procedure is a noninvasive test with computer-generated accuracy.

It demonstrates the function of outer hair cells, which are a component of the inner ear, or cochlea, and the site most common for hearing problem origination. Otoacoustic emissions testing is often used in the evaluation of newborns, occupational and school testing, and speech and language delay. In fact, we were one of the first hearing centers to use this testing method.
